OUR MISSION
The Grizzly Bear Foundation is a charitable organization dedicated to the welfare of the grizzly bear across North America.
Guided by science and Indigenous knowledge, we work collaboratively to support the conservation of grizzly bears through research, public education, and advocacy.
“Grizzlies have been a lifelong favorite of mine. I think of them as being almost an emotional keystone species - their presence has an emotional impact on my experiences in the wild. Because I grew up with grizzlies, they’ve been a nearly mythological creature for me and I’ve developed a really intense love and appreciation for them.”
— GrizKid Wes Larson, Grizzly Bear Foundation Board Member
“When we protect grizzly bears, we protect so much more.”
— Nicholas Scapillati, Grizzly Bear Foundation Executive Director
“'If we look after the Grizzly Bear habitat, we will also ensure the survival and sustenance of our cultural identity.”
— Laura Grizzlypaws, Grizzly Bear Foundation Board Member
“Grizzly bears lived in our country many thousands of years before human beings arrived. Their sustainability at the top of the natural food chain is an indicator of a healthy natural environment. It is, therefore, important that we cherish these animals and safeguard them from extirpation.”
— Michael Audain, Grizzly Bear Foundation Founder
