COEXISTENCE: LIVING WITH GRIZZLIES

We believe coexistence with grizzly bears is possible. As an organization, we work with communities, governments, and industry to achieve this goal. We support human-bear coexistence through research, outreach, and education by working collaboratively with the BC Conservation Officer Service, the Ministry of Agriculture, First Nations, partner organizations, and local communities.

HOW YOUR DONATION CAN HELP

Community engagement and storytelling to further appreciate and understand grizzly bears is paramount to our coexistence strategy in these communities. To foster coexistence, we host public workshops, social activities, presentations, and webinars and produce informational brochures, podcasts and videos to further non-lethal coexistence tools and techniques.

Donate today to help redefine the future of human and grizzly bear coexistence.

Living With Grizzlies is a short film series about people bound together by the common theme of sharing the landscape with grizzly bears. These films bear witness to communities harvesting from the same fields, fishing the same waters, hunting and trapping among the same sacred lands, and sharing a common home with the grizzly bear.

EPISODE 1: ŁU GHĄ: A Place for Fishing

Journey to critical spawning salmon grounds that carve through a traditional seasonal fishing village in Southwest Yukon, home to both dän (people) and the shär sho (grizzly bear). In an intimate short film about Living With Grizzlies, hear from a Yukon Knowledge Keeper in ŁU GHĄ: A Place for Fishing.

EPISODE 2: A FARMER'S STORY

We explore how electric fencing can be used as a non-lethal, safe, and highly effective coexistence tool. Preventing grizzly bears from accessing non-natural attractants is essential to coexistence.
