Today is Earth Day — a message from Laura Grizzlypaws

April 22, 2026

Dear friends,

Earth Day reminds us that we are not separate from the land — we are part of it. The health of the earth is the health of our communities, our cultures, and future generations.

Grizzly bears are more than a species to protect; they are teachers. They show us what it means to live in balance, to respect seasons of rest and renewal, and to take only what is needed.

When we walk in the footsteps of grizzlies, we are reminded of our responsibility to care for the land in ways that sustain life long into the future. Protecting grizzly bears means protecting entire ecosystems — the waters, the forests, the medicines, and the relationships that hold everything together.

Earth Day invites us to reflect on how our daily choices can honour this responsibility. Even small steps can contribute to protecting habitats, supporting our stewardship role and conservation efforts, and ensuring that future generations will continue to know the presence of the grizzly.

When we protect the grizzly, we protect the balance of life itself.

This Earth Day, we’re invited not only to reflect, but to take action.

Even one meaningful step can create lasting impact — helping protect grizzly bears and the ecosystems, communities, and relationships that depend on them.
